OIT Helps Physics Researchers

When some Physics researchers needed a few dedicated computers for running experiments, they reached out to OIT Customer Service Director Rachel Mulry to see if she could help. The requirements for the computers were minimal compared to current university standards but had to be stable enough to run their experiment and priced within their small budget. Results of the 2017 Student Technology Needs Assessment [Infographic]

In 2017, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) surveyed students and staff regarding technology use and support in order to assess and improve existing OIT services and discover new and innovative areas to pursue. The Fall 2017 Student Technology Needs Assessment surveyed over 1,900 undergraduate and graduate students at SMU, and the Faculty Technology Satisfaction Survey collected information from almost 200 faculty members. Dr. Michael H. Hites to lead OIT into Second Century

Dr. Michael H. HitesThis summer, Dr. Michael H. Hites, an executive with 17 years of experience leading large-scale computing operations for university-based research and innovation, joined OIT as SMU’s Chief Information Officer. Guillermo VasquezMy name is Guillermo Vasquez, and I’m a natural researcher, a technology enthusiast, and an amateur photographer. Phone Replacement Project to Replace Old PBX Phones
