As the campus returns for the new year, we want to remind you that NetID is now required to sign in to SMU services. Using your eight-digit SMU ID number will not be accepted for authentication.

As of this morning, NetID is now required to sign in to SMU services. For most people at SMU, NetID resembles their email address and should be easy to remember, and replaces their eight-digit SMU ID number to authenticate to online services. Continue reading NetID is Now Required
SMU has purchased a new building located at 5401 North Central Expressway, currently known as the Associa Building. The building is just south of the SMU Tennis Complex at the north end of the Katy Trail, where Airline Road meets North Central Expressway.

On December 26, 2024, SMU will switch to using NetID as the standard username for signing into SMU services. Due to a change in how we authenticate with our Single Sign-on (SSO), using your eight-digit employee ID number to sign in will no longer be possible. We are moving to a more convenient NetID that, for most people at SMU, resembles their email address. With the change less than two weeks away, we encourage everyone to start using their NetID today.
