NetID Becomes Standard on December 26

This change in how we authenticate with our Single Sign-on (SSO) using Entra ID will allow OIT to access several modern services relevant to the SMU community, such as Microsoft Intune and Windows Hello for Business, in the future. With the switchover only six weeks away, we encourage everyone to start using their NetID today. SMU Moves to Entra ID for Accessing Services

Microsoft Entra ID logoOIT implemented a Single Sign-On (SSO) service in 2012 using the Shibboleth Identity Provider (IdP). Since then, SSO has made accessing SMU services more efficient by reducing the need to log in separately to every online SMU service. Since that introduction, many significant improvements to user authentication technologies have been made. OIT plans to stay ahead of these advancements and introduce new features as they become available.

New Looks Coming to Single Sign-On & Duo Pages

DuoWhile we recently had updates to the Duo two-factor authentication mobile app, there are a couple of additional, minor changes that will be taking place in the coming weeks. Duo prompts as well as SMU’s Single Sign-On (SSO) web pages will be getting a style refresh!
