Take Mental Health Month to Heart

A message from Magellan – SMU’s Employee Assistance Provider

Take Mental Health To Heart
Honoring and Helping Those Who Serve Our Country

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month, and Magellan is proud to launch its inaugural, month-long campaign to raise awareness about mental health issues.

This year, Take Mental Health To Heart highlights the unique and complex mental wellness challenges faced by members of the military, veterans and their families.
We are pleased to have two distinguished partners joining in this effort—the  National Military Family Association and Horizon Healthcare Services, Inc. – and, we invite you to join us in this important endeavor as well.

Information & Resources Available at TakeMentalHealthToHeart.com . Easy-to-find information, tips and support resources are critical in helping an individual recognize, address, and recover from a mental wellness challenge.  At the website, visitors will find informative mental wellness tips, online screening tools and other interactive features.  Mental Wellness Wednesdays (each Wednesday in May) will feature new resources on topics from various phases and aspects of military service, such as preparing family and friends for a loved one’s deployment; mental wellness on duty; dealing with trauma, loss and grief; and the transition to life after service. Help us spread the word by sending the website link to your professional and personal contacts or click on our social media friendly links to share the message through Facebook or Twitter.

Show Your Appreciation to a Service Member
Also on TakeMentalHealthToHeart.com, you’ll find e-greeting cards that you can send to men and women currently serving and veterans to offer your thanks and encouragement, as well as to remind the recipient to make mental wellness a priority. For each e-card sent, Magellan and Horizon will each donate $1 (up to a combined $50,000) to the National Military Family Association.
