As part of these efforts, the Information Security team will launch phishing simulations designed to help our community recognize and avoid email-based scams. These simulations aren’t about “catching” anyone — they’re a chance to practice spotting red flags and build habits that protect you and our university. Empowered by AI: New AI Training Pathways Available for Staff

In fact, you may have heard the buzz on campus regarding SMU’s Generative AI Coalition of the Willing, which launched in May 2024. This initiative partnered with our schools and key departments to engage in AI experimentation and learn from each other. The coalition has been a success and has continued to expand. Now, we’re rolling out targeted AI training designed specifically for staff this fall.

All managed lists managed on bulklist.smu.edu will be repopulated with the entire student population. The Bulk Email List Refresh is expected to be completed by 10 a.m. Please be aware that no mail sent to bulklist.smu.edu will be processed until after the refresh is complete. Student Affairs Staff Earn Excel Certification Together

Get Certified at SMULast spring, at the end of one of my Excel trainings, I overheard Jade Weaver pitching the idea of Excel certification and summertime learning to her Division of Student Affairs colleague, Kim Nelson Pryor.

With summer approaching, Jade, the Associate Director of the Hunt Leadership Scholars Program at the Hegi Family Career Development Center, and Kim, the Director for Student Affairs Assessment and Analytics, realized they’d have a little breathing room to dedicate time to sharpening their Excel skills.
