Recent my.SMU Update Brings Look & Feel Changes to Dashboards

my.SMU logo

You may have noticed a bit of a refreshed look when logging into my.SMU as an employee recently. PeopleSoft, the underlying software that powers my.SMU has provided an update that has changed some of the color schemes across the system as well as some navigational updates. Here’s a quick overview of what’s new!

When you first log in, you may immediately notice a notifications sidebar on the right-hand side of the page. This will display any recent notifications you may have, depending on your permissions to administrative functions, eliminating an extra click to check them!

The search bar at the top of the screen is also revamped, with live search capability to see results in real time and the ability to filter to certain dashboards. To the far left of the search bar, you’ll also see icons for quick access to your recently visited pages and favorites. As before, you can also view recents and favorites via the NavBar button.

Deeper within my.SMU, you may notice that some search pages will now show results on the same page as your search fields instead of taking you to a separate results page, further simplifying areas where you may make searches frequently.

Of course, we will be updating screenshots in our wiki where applicable in the coming months, but the majority of navigation in my.SMU remains the same!
