Microsoft recently released Visio for the web as part of the Microsoft 365 Apps, and it is no longer only available as a standalone application for PC users. Whether utilizing a tablet, Mac, or PC, all users can now take advantage of the popular flowcharting and diagramming software, Visio, on the web.
What is Microsoft Visio?
The Microsoft Visio application allows users to create visual diagrams to communicate complex processes quickly. These diagrams provide a professional look through the use of various themes, templates, and backgrounds.
The full application is still available for purchase through the Technology Online Ordering Portal. However, the Microsoft 365 (light version) includes plenty of diagrams and templates to get you up and running. To view Visio for Web, login into Microsoft 365 and navigate to Apps, then select Visio.
Experienced users who plan to use Visio for enhanced features such as advanced data visualizations or linking to other applications like SharePoint or Excel will still want to purchase the desktop application (available for PCs only.)
