Cox Renovation Groundbreaking

IT Support Continues During Cox Renovation

As the Cox School of Business renovation begins, faculty and staff are relocating to many different locations across the east and main campus. Many of the Cox employees will be located on the east campus. To better support faculty and staff across 75, Glenn Taylor has relocated to Expressway Towers. He will join Robert Burkett in supporting the technology needs across all buildings on the east campus. As always, faculty and staff should call the IT Help Desk at 214-768-HELP or email them at help@smu.edu if there are any support needs.

We are also pleased to announce that Mike Gebreselassie has been hired as the Academic Technology Service Director for the Cox School of Business. Mike has worked in Cox for many years and has served on the AV team in OIT since 2015. He will continue to support Cox focusing primarily on faculty support and instruction. His office is in Perkins Administration Building, although he will certainly be meeting faculty all over campus.

Our AV teams have begun dismantling the equipment in the classrooms to be redeployed throughout campus. Cox courses will be held across campus in various classrooms. Our teams are updating components in various rooms for the fall semester. Due to supply chain delays, several upgrades have already been postponed until Winter Break. Hopefully, we’ll be able to complete all the others on schedule! For the complete schedule and list of rooms, visit smu.edu/classroomupgrades

Finally, we have several new staff that will be joining us over the summer to fill recently vacated positions. We look forward to being fully staffed for fall and supporting all of your technology needs!
