A new Facilities Services Agreement between SMU and Aramark went into effect June 1, said Associate Vice President and University Architect Philip Jabour of SMU’s Office of Facilities Planning and Management. The agreement focuses on regular and ongoing preventive and corrective maintenance to SMU buildings and grounds.
Core services include plant operations and maintenance, grounds and landscaping, custodial and housekeeping, and general facilities-related support services. In addition, the agreement includes a quality-assurance program to be measured on a quarterly basis.
Ken Jordan, an award-winning comprehensive facilities manager at Millikin University in Decatur, Ill., has been named the new Director of Facility Services by Aramark at SMU. Jordan will help guide the University as it transitions the management of the Facility Services division. Jordan, a graduate of West Point, completed two overseas combat tours. He served in multiple command and leadership roles, as well as operational planning and logistics positions, utilizing his degree in economics with an emphasis in civil engineering. Jordan joins SMU on June 6, 2016.
