Curt Herridge headshotCurt Herridge, Associate CIO for Data and Application Services, received the “M” Award during the 2024 Hilltop Excellence Awards, where SMU comes together to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of students, staff, and faculty at SMU.

The “M” Award is the highest recognition that can be bestowed upon a member of the SMU community. The “M” Award honorees serve as an inspiration to others through their unselfish giving of time and talents to make the University a better place. Curt was recognized this year for his continued leadership and partnership across campus. “I am humbled and grateful to be selected as a recipient of the “M” Award… Throughout my time at SMU, I have been fortunate to collaborate with amazing peers, mentors, and colleagues who collectively make a difference in the lives of our students.

He truly cares about enriching the SMU student experience and is a servant leader—day in and day out,” shared Rachel Mulry, Associate CIO of Customer Service and Planning. Through his work administering and overseeing enterprise applications such as the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, commonly known as my.SMU, the platform that drives smu.edu, and the enterprise data warehousing critical to the University, Curt has partnered with teams across campus to ensure the best possible digital interactions with and for SMU.

Curt has been an invaluable member of SMU for over 17 years and has recently successfully defended his dissertation to complete the Simmons School of Education & Human Development requirements for a Doctor of Education (EdD) focused on leadership, policy analysis, and applied research in higher education administration.
