Zoom recently released an updated version of their desktop applications that not only refreshes the look and feel but changes the name altogether! The Zoom desktop app is now known as Zoom Workplace. Here’s some info on what we know about this change so far.
Zoom announced this change in their most recent release notes:
The Zoom app for desktop and mobile is now named Zoom Workplace, in order to align the app name with Zoom’s extensive product offerings that are designed to help users reimagine the way they collaborate. Users updating to this version will see the new Zoom Workplace branding in the app and as the app name in their app directory.
The new application also provides multiple quality-of-life updates, including:
- New color themes
- Customizable toolbars
- New icons and visuals
- New emoji reactions
- “Voiceprint” creation for better audio isolation
- Better portrait lighting for video
