Canvas Plus: March 2024 Edition

Canvas LMSIn our Canvas Plus Monthly, we discuss the new features and enhancements available in Canvas and any updates to academic technology/software that are integrated into Canvas. All Canvas updates will be available in Canvas by the 3rd weekend of the month.

Canvas Courses

Rich Content Editor (RCE) 3-13-24

When right-clicking on media in the Rich Content Editor, the options to download media, open media in a new tab, and copy the media address are removed from the menu. This update enhances the security of Canvas media, increasing the level of difficulty for users attempting to share Canvas media outside of the platform.

If you have allowed downloads of Panopto media, students can still download that/those from Panopto.

Gradebook 3-16-24

In the Gradebook, instructors can choose multiple filter options for each filter type. This update improves the user experience by streamlining the process of managing filter selections, offering increased customization options, and facilitating faster filter navigation.
