Microsoft Teams: Don’t Forget to Renew!

Microsoft Teams logoAdoption of Microsoft Teams across campus has accelerated over the past few years, and with that comes routine upkeep to make sure your team stays active. OIT policy sets Microsoft Teams and Groups to expire after one year. Make sure you pay attention to your email for the 30, 15, and one-day expiration reminders to renew your team(s) and keep them active.

If one of your teams does expire, the team owner has a 30-day grace period to recover deleted items. Please keep in mind that OIT no longer has the ability to recover data after the grace period expires. If you need to recover any items, contact the IT Help Desk for assistance. If you haven’t dived into Microsoft Teams just yet, we invite you to do so! There are also some great LinkedIn Learning courses to help you get started.
