Nominate An SMU Cybersecurity Superhero!

Cybersecurity Superheroes

SMU is searching for Cybersecurity Superheroes and we need your help to find them!  They may look like a mild-mannered SMU employee, but in the last 12 months, they’ve donned their capes and thwarted cybervillains big and small. They’ve gone back to their everyday lives, but we want to let them know we remember them! Do you know someone who helped improve SMU’s Cybersecurity by:

Helping to improve a department’s processes around security
(For example, encrypting files that contain sensitive info or working with a vendor to address gaps in security.)

Assisting with an investigation into a security related threat
(Loss or theft of a laptop, inappropriate access to files.)

Creating a security-minded culture
(This is someone who is proactive about discussing current threats and how they might impact your department, encouraging good cybersecurity hygiene such as making sure employees aren’t writing their passwords on post-it notes and making sure sensitive files are locked.)
