After brief remarks, the Chief Marshal leads the students through the front doors of Dallas Hall for a walk through the Rotunda, then exiting through the back doors. This is a symbolic departure from campus as well as a welcome to the SMU Alumni family.
On Saturday morning, the all-University Commencement Convocation assembles some 536 degree candidates from all of SMU’s schools and professional programs. The ceremony will take place in Moody Coliseum at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016. Students and faculty, dressed in academic regalia, enter the coliseum to grand processional music. SMU President R. Gerald Turner will confer degrees and a formal address will be delivered by retired Dallas Police Chief David Brown. READ MORE
