Please be aware that Copyleaks will be replacing Turnitin for plagiarism detection at SMU. With Turnitin being discontinued in less than two weeks, we encourage everyone using Canvas to make this switch before Turnitin’s cutoff on May 31, 2025.
Like Turnitin, Copyleaks allows instructors to scan submitted files for plagiarism through the familiar Canvas interface. Copyleaks also leverages cutting-edge AI technology to detect similarities between submitted texts and a vast database of sources, and helps you identify potential plagiarism by comparing student submissions against billions of web pages, scholarly articles, and academic papers.
To help you get up and running with Copyleaks, a virtual Introduction to Copyleaks Plagiarism Detection training session will be offered on May 28, 2025, starting at 10 a.m. Save your seat now!
