The migration from Confluence to XWiki is complete and the new Wiki.SMU is now available for use. XWiki will be the platform for documentation such as IT Knowledge Base, STABLE documentation, and my.SMU instructions. To access, go to smu.edu/wiki.
To assist with the transition, OIT will host daily pop-up sessions from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting on February 26, 2024, for in-person help.
Date | Location |
---|---|
February 26 | Hughes-Trigg Student Center, room 119 |
February 27 | Hughes-Trigg Student Center, room 119 |
February 28 | Hughes-Trigg Student Center, room 123 |
Feel free to stop by anytime between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. if you have questions or feedback about the new platform.
The Confluence site will remain read-only behind the VPN for a period for you to review content and address issues.
XWiki uses a different pathing structure for content. The migration team has put in redirects after the migration for landing pages. Any hyperlinks on www.smu.edu or in your documentation and emails should continue to work for those spaces, but we recommend updating those links to the new URL at your earliest convenience. Please be aware some content might produce a “Were you looking for one of the following pages instead?” search result with a high probability of the page the user is trying to find. We recommend reviewing all links after the migration is completed.
If you are ready to get started, please visit smu.edu/wiki to find User Guides, helpful tips, and answers to frequently asked questions.
If you have any questions or need assistance with using Wiki.SMU or XWiki, please feel free to contact the IT Help Desk at 214-768-HELP (4357) or email help@smu.edu.
