Let Your Mouse do the Walking: Internal Employee Directory Now Online
We are now introducing an online directory that contains employee office contact information that can be searched within my.SMU.
Skype for Business To Display SMU ID Photos Soon
Your SMU ID card photo will soon be visible in Skype for Business, as well as other internal Microsoft services and programs such as Outlook and SharePoint.
MS Teams Now Open to All!
SMU faculty, staff, and students now have access to Microsoft’s cloud-based team collaboration platform – Microsoft Teams. Use MS Teams to keep all your department or group’s chats, meetings, files, and apps together in one place.
Duo Two-Factor Authentication Coming to Office 365
After the successful launch of Duo two-factor authentication for my.SMU, OIT will be moving forward with the next step in our effort to safeguard student and employee accounts by enabling two-factor authentication for Office 365.

Over 900 Mustangs are Microsoft Office Certified!
Since its inception, the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification Progam has awarded over 900 certifications during its pilot. Now, the program has received permanent funding and students can receive their information literacy proficiency by taking the MOS Certification.
Adobe Creative Cloud 2019 Now Available
We are excited to announce the new licensing with Adobe for the Adobe Creative Cloud suite. As part of this new license, employees will be able to download applications to both their office and home computer.
AudioCodes 445HD to be Primary Phone for Campus
After continued testing of the features and functionality of each phone, we have decided to go with just one primary device for all employees. That model is the AudioCodes 445HD.
OIT Web Team Makes Strides in Sitecore Success

A Reminder About Ordering New Computers
As we begin a new fiscal year, another large batch of faculty and staff computers are now eligible for replacement under the University Technology Fund. Before you place those orders, here are a few reminders.
New SMU Password Requirements Coming Soon
On May 30, 2019, the University will implement a change to the existing password requirements. Your new SMU password will now have a minimum length of 12 characters and will expire after 365 days versus the current 180 days.
