Microsoft has recently released the latest update to the Office suite. Office 2019 offers a few new features including new motion graphics, editing tools, formulas, and more. The overall look and feel of the application, however, has not changed except for fresh designs for some icons. Here is just a sample of some of the handy new features:
- Embedded language translator
- LaTeX equation support
- Improved accessibility settings
- Multiple new Excel functions
Office 2019 will be available for installation on SMU-managed computers beginning December 17. The software will be found in the Ivanti Portal and can be installed at the time that is most convenient for you. Classroom PCs and computer labs will not be upgraded until our standard refresh period during summer break.
As a reminder, Office ProPlus is available for faculty, staff, and students for installation on their personal devices–free of charge! If you receive a new device over the holidays, you can download the Office Suite from our site.
Pro Plus is available only for matriculated or active students and current employees based on data from my.SMU. Pro Plus is not available for admitted or former students, Kelly Services employees, retirees, or contractors.
