At this time, off-campus gatherings, including department dinners or meetings to encourage community connections with students, are discouraged in an effort prevent the spread of the virus and maintain a healthy campus.
Students or staff preparing to travel to SMU from outside the country are not required to self-quarantine at this time. All students, however, are expected to conduct a daily self-screen for COVID-19 when they return to campus. Visit the SMU International Student and Scholar Services office for more information on the latest guidelines.
Due to the uncertainties and travel restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, SMU does not anticipate offering any in-person programs abroad in the Spring or Summer of 2021. The SMU Abroad office is developing a number of virtual internships/courses abroad that will be available this upcoming summer.
