Will my spouse or children be eligible to get access to the COVID vaccine through the University?

SMU employees’ spouses and dependents (as young as 12) are eligible to receive the vaccine on campus. As we follow state guidelines, the University will prioritize employees and students who are directly engaged in on-campus activities and then spouses and dependents of our faculty and staff.

I am a retired SMU faculty/ employee. Am I eligible to get access to the COVID vaccine through the University?

If I currently have, or already contracted COVID-19, how long should I wait to receive the vaccine?

Anyone currently infected with COVID-19 should wait to get vaccinated until after their illness has resolved and after they have met the criteria to discontinue isolation.

If you were treated for COVID-19 using monoclonal antibodies, it’s recommended you wait 90 days to receive the vaccine.

Am I still eligible to receive the vaccine at SMU if my permanent residence is outside Dallas County or the state of Texas?

Yes. If you are a member of the SMU community, we highly encourage you to receive your vaccine as soon as we have the supply and your window of eligibility opens.
