This fall, the Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) and OIT have been working diligently to prepare for the 2026 launch of Cayuse, a cloud-based research administration portal. To help familiarize the campus with the system, ORI introduced a preview of Cayuse during the October Research Café. The session, titled “Cayuse @SMU: Digital Tools for Managing Research Activities,” is available to view on-demand, and ORI has also shared the presentation slides.
Additionally, the team will conduct a pilot session with a small user group during the week of November 17 to help refine future training. This introductory training will inform a more comprehensive workshop for faculty and staff, which will launch as part of the Faculty Technology Workshop series beginning on January 8, 2026. More information about these sessions will be shared soon.
Cayuse is scheduled to go live on January 26. Additional details about the implementation are available on the Cayuse website.
