Teams Tip: Removing Skype for Business from Your Computer

Skype for BusinessAs we move to Microsoft Teams over the next few months, eventually your Skype for Business client will fail to work. However, it will still be on your computer, so here’s how to remove it when the time comes.

Windows Devices

On your SMU-owned Windows device, you can remove the Skype for Business client by using the tool provided in the Ivanti Portal Manager.

  1. Search for Portal Manager or find it in your Start menu.
  2. In the Portal Manager window, select the M365 Apps for Enterprise UBL/UI (Skype Removal) item.
The Skype removal tool in the Ivanti Portal Manager.
  3. Click Install.
  4. The process will complete automatically in about 15 minutes.

Mac Devices

If you’re using a Mac, you can just move the Skype for Business application to the Trash and empty the trash, just like any other application!

Of course, you’ll only want to do this after your phone number has been moved to Teams!
