Introducing the Newly-Remodeled Classrooms at the Cox School of Business

Classroom ControlsThe Cox School of Business has undergone an exciting transformation, with newly-remodeled classrooms and other learning spaces designed to provide a cutting-edge experience for a new era of business education. These modern spaces are equipped with advanced technology to enhance both teaching and learning for faculty and students alike. Here’s some info on what to expect in the classrooms!

Key Features of the New Classrooms

The remodeled classrooms feature state-of-the-art equipment tailored to support a dynamic and interactive educational environment:

  • Advanced Display Systems: Each room is equipped with multiple displays, including a large front display with multiple projectors that can simultaneously showcase multiple content sources. Faculty also have access to confidence monitors at the front or rear of the room, ensuring they can view and manage their presentations effectively during lectures.

  • Interactive Technology: The classrooms boast Clevertouch interactive large monitors, which serve as digital whiteboards, and QOMO interactive monitors on the podiums. These tools are ideal for annotations, presentations, and engaging with content in real-time. The Clevertouch is also capable of allowing multiple people to write at the same time!

  • Enhanced Camera and Audio Systems: A Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) tracking camera in the rear of the room can automatically follow the faculty member as they move, ensuring they are always in focus during lectures. The rooms also feature ceiling-mounted audience microphones along with handheld and wireless microphones with dedicated charging stations, providing crystal-clear audio for all participants. There are also assistive listening devices available for the hearing impaired.

  • Convenient Controls: The control panels in each classroom allow for detailed management of lighting, temperature, and audiovisual equipment. The panels also provide quick access to camera and microphone controls, making it easy for faculty to adjust settings on the fly.
  • Wireless Screen Sharing: With the Wolfvision wireless screen-sharing system, faculty and students can share content from their devices without needing to connect cables. This system supports a wide range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops, making it easy to display content with less setup hassles.

Preparing for Class

To maximize the benefits of these advanced features, faculty are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the control panels and equipment. Quick Start Guides are available in each room to assist with setup, and faculty can also explore online resources provided by OIT.

These enhancements are part of our commitment to providing a top-tier educational and collaborative environment at the Cox School of Business. We are excited to see how these new classrooms will support innovative teaching methods and foster a more engaging learning experience for this new chapter in Cox history!
