For those of us using SMU-owned Mac devices, updates and patches for macOS Monterey will be discontinued this fall. This means it is imperative that you make sure your Mac is up-to-date on software and OS updates! We have some information for you regarding your SMU devices and this support change.
If your Mac has not yet been upgraded to newer versions of macOS like Ventura or Sonoma, we will begin to prompt you to upgrade your device starting in early May. You will have seven opportunities to delay the upgrade, if needed, but the upgrade will be forced after these seven delays.
Due to this support discontinuation, any devices that are incompatible with macOS versions newer than Monterey will need to be replaced by August 1. New orders for replacement devices can be made on the smu.edu/techsales portal, and you can always check to see if your device is eligible for Tech Fund replacement by using the My Computers button in STABLE.
