TAI Student Wins Silver Pencil at the One Show

TAI senior creative advertising student, Monika Hoang, received a Silver Pencil for her “Guantanamo by the Numbers” infographic during The Yong Ones awards on Tuesday, May 7.  The Young Ones awards is part of The One Show, which takes place each May in New York, New York.

The One Show is considered one of the most prestigious awards shows in advertising, and its coveted Pencil award has been the ultimate achievement in many creatives’ careers. Every year, a panel of 30 creatives from around the world gather for a week and judge nearly 20,000 entries in categories including print, television, billboards and radio. Only the best of the best make the cut—Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils are given out to fewer than 100 entries every year.

Ms. Hoang was also recognized for two other pieces of work, “The Global Refugee Crisis” and “Comparing Values,” which she received merits for.
