In our Canvas Plus Monthly, we discuss the new features and enhancements available in the Canvas LMS and any updates to academic technology/software that are integrated into Canvas. This month, we discuss two interface updates for Canvas, round up resources for using Qwickly attendance, and give a shout-out to everyone who participated in our Fall 2025 Faculty Technology Workshop series!
Canvas Files Page is Redesigned
The Files page has been redesigned to offer a cleaner, more intuitive interface that simplifies file organization and management. Click the Select All checkbox [1] to select all files and folders at once, or the checkbox next to each file or folder [2] to select them individually. Sort by clicking on the column headers [3]. While exploring the new layout, a temporary button at the top of the page allows users to switch between the new and original interface [4]. Click the All My Files button to view the files landing page [5]. Bulk action options are available when files and/or folders are selected [6].

Canvas’ Smart Search Gets an Update
The Smart Search Results page in your Canvas courses now has a redesigned interface with a Filter button, offering a more intuitive and visually appealing experience for interpreting and navigating results.

Qwickly Support
If you are using Qwickly Attendance for your courses and looking for a “qwick” refresh on tips and best practices, we invite you to watch the recording of our SMU-led training. This additional workshop was specifically designed to lead instructors through initial setup and relevant settings, and is a wonderful resource to revisit throughout the semester. As always, don’t forget to reach out to your school’s dedicated ATSD if you have any additional questions, and visit the Qwickly Attendance page for more information and FAQ’s.
Fall 2025 Faculty Technology Workshop Recordings Now Available
If you weren’t able to join us for our workshop series last month, or if you’re simply looking to rewatch a specific tutorial or walkthrough, you can view the full list of workshop recordings on the IT Connect Blog.
Thank you to everyone who participated!
