While Apple has launched Ventura as their latest update to macOS, we recommend that users wait until the next update before upgrading University-owned computers. We know you may be chomping on the bit to click install, but we are currently reviewing any potential conflicts with other University applications or fixes that might be needed.
While you wait, here are a few features that our Mac users can expect in the upcoming weeks.
Stage Manager: Allows end users to organize their windows by pushing apps on the left side in a tile view.
Spotlight: Enhanced features now include things like starting a timer, turning on focus mode, runing shortcuts, and more!
Mail App: The Mail app has several new additions, including the ability to turn on reminders for emails and undo sent messages
Continuity Camera: Users are sure to be excited about the additional enhancements that were first released with Mojave. This includes using your camera for a desktop view as well as studio view.
Safari – Need to share a group of web pages? No problem. The upgrade to Safari now allows shared tab groups that you can share with other users.
If you’re interested in these features, sit tight! We will do our testing and update you soon. Remember, if you use applications that you downloaded on your own, it is your responsibility to ensure they are compatible with the new OS before you upgrade. We recommend visiting the application’s website or reaching out to their customer support team to check before upgrading.
