Congrats to Dan Millimet and PhD alum Ian McDonough on grant!

Professor Dan Millimet and 2014 SMU PhD alum Ian McDonough have been awarded a grant to work on food security issues by the Economic Research Service and Food and Nutrition Service. Housed in the United States Department of Agriculture, the grant was awarded under a broader initiative “Research on Food Security using the Panel Study of Income Dynamics”.

Unsurprising given Dan’s keen interest in all things related to measurement error, the title of Dan and Ian’s project is “Examination of intra- and intergenerational food security mobility in the presence of measurement error”. Ian completed his PhD under the supervision of Dan and the two now have a productive co-author relationship as colleagues. Ian started at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas in Fall 2015 and will begin Fall 2020 a newly promoted Associate Professor, so congratulations Ian!
