Five Psychology Undergraduates Present Their Research

Two psychology undergraduates presented their research projects at the Engaged Learning Symposium on Feb. 6th. Mariam Alaka presented her study of about Nigerian orphans’ awareness of HIV/AIDS, under the direction of Dr. Holden. Spanking Research Changes Parents’ Attitudes

New studies at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, found that parents who favored spanking, later significantly altered their views after they were briefly exposed to the research findings, said child psychologist George Holden. Parents less likely to spank after reading briefly about its links to problems in children
