The SMU Maguire Ethics Center awards Public Service Fellowships to undergraduate and graduate students interested in volunteer work or research in ethics during the summer months. Recipients are required to complete 200 hours of public service during the summer term. For 25 years The Maguire Ethics Center has awarded summer fellowships totaling over $400,000 to SMU students for public service and research in ethics. They have supported student research and volunteerism in more than 150 agencies across 18 states, 25 countries, and 5 continents.
