Successful blogger: To Be Bright
How did you decide you wanted to start your business?
I’ve always wanted to start a blog, but never put my plan to action until a phone interview encouraged me to put everything I do online. So To Be Bright originally began as an online resume with my passions (including fashion-related posts). I started receiving a lot of positive feedback and gathering a good following from my fashion posts that I decided to transition to making it’s focus as a personal style blog.
What was an obstacle you have faced?
Making time and keeping up with promotional posts via social media is always an obstacle. Being a full-time student, I have to draft a lot of my posts the night before and make sure I have the time to feature everything throughout the day to generate the most traffic.
At what point did you consider it a success?
The moment I was invited to NY Fashion Week by Lucky Magazine is when I realized I’m doing something right.
What is your favorite part about what you do?
My favorite part is all of it. From showcasing the clothes to attending blog-friendly events and meeting new people, there’s always something to look forward to.
What do you plan on for the future?
My plan is to move to NYC after graduation this year and (hopefully) get a job working in the social media/PR dept of a national fashion magazine.
What are your dreams/goals?
My dream is to blog full-time, making To Be Bright my job.
