The SMU M.Ed. Program in Higher Education gives students the foundation and resources necessary to understand and analyze how universities and colleges work through small cohort-style courses. Graduates of our program are prepared to participate in a wide range of higher educational settings and assume many key roles in activities such as admissions, advising, student activities, administration, and policy analysis. We offer part-time and full-time options for students that allow the application of academic work to a real world professional environment. This 36 hour program offers evening coursework, and can be completed in as little as 2 years. Our part-time track is designed for working professionals, while our full-time track is ideal for students to hold graduate assistantships on campus. Graduate assistant opportunities include positions in student affairs, academic affairs, administration, educational policy and research. We offer reduced tuition rates and scholarships are available.
