Partners in Opportunity, a local nonprofit working to put kids on the path to college, is looking for volunteer tutors to work with our elementary students this summer. This will be a rewarding and valuable experience for tutors, and tutors will make a direct impact on the future of the students in our program.
Volunteer tutors will be working one-on-one with an elementary student using a structured curriculum for reading and math. The summer tutoring block runs for 8 weeks throughout June and July. Tutoring sessions are 1 hour and 15 minutes. The tutoring venue is on campus at SMU.
The application process requires a short application, a 45-minute interview, 3 reference checks, and 2 hours of virtual training. A minimum commitment of 20 sessions is required, but tutors can pick from any available days (they do not have to be available throughout the entirety of the summer session). Please see the dates below.
If you are interested in joining a dynamic team and making an impact this summer, please email anna@partnersinopportunity.org.
