Ömer Özak was featured in Semana which is Colombia’s main weekly periodical. The article talks about how technology is changing the way scientists and social scientists are doing research and how the audience they are trying to reach is also changing to reflect a wider non-academic audience. Ömer offers his cautiously optimistic thoughts on inter-disciplinary research: “interdisciplinarity is definitely something new, which is still in its infancy. Collaborating with researchers in other areas is difficult, as we all have our own methods, biases, and language. But it is improving and it has a lot of potential”. He also emphasizes the opportunities for Colombian students to study abroad which also benefit the universities abroad via the knowledge and diversity brought by Colombian students.
