Temporary Research Associate Position in Economics Lab at University of Nebraska-Lincoln

The UNL Economics Lab at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a predoctoral Research Associate for a temporary, full-time position starting as early as January 2025. This role is ideal for those interested in hands-on empirical research experience, especially those planning to pursue graduate studies in economics or a related field.

Position Details:

  • Role: Research Associate (Temporary, 1 year)
  • Pay: $20.00/hr
  • Location: Lincoln, NE

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics or related field
  • Proficiency in statistical software like Stata or R
  • Strong skills in mathematics, statistics, and econometrics
  • Ability to pass a background check for Special Sworn Status (U.S. Census Bureau data access)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Stata and LaTeX
  • Previous experience as a research assistant

FTC Hiring Statisticians for Summer 2025 – Apply by November 4th

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is accepting applications for Statisticians in the Bureau of Economics, offering a unique opportunity for seniors and Masters students with backgrounds in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science.

This is your last chance to apply for the Andrew Brimmer Undergraduate Essay Prize, named in honor of the first Black member of the Federal Reserve Board. The prize recognizes essays on the economic well-being of Black Americans.

Criteria:

  • 750-word essay (including charts/figures) on the economic well-being of Black Americans
  • Open to undergraduate students majoring in economics, political science, public policy, or related fields at US-based institutions
  • Essays must be accompanied by an endorsement letter from the department chair
  • One essay per department
