This four-day intensive boot camp focuses on today’s most pressing public policy issues, offering a unique opportunity for college students, recent graduates, and young professionals to engage with public policy formation at Stanford University.

The Expanding Diversity in Economics+ (EDE+) Summer Institute at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business is now accepting applications for its 2025 program! This initiative aims to diversify the pipeline of students pursuing careers in economics while providing unparalleled exposure to economic analysis and research.

Program Details:

  • Dates: June 2 – July 30, 2025
  • Format:
    • Weeklong virtual skill-building bootcamp
    • Two weeks of in-residence programming in Washington, DC and Chicago
    • Six-week synchronous, online summer course
    • Culminates in a research project and presentation at a networking conference in Washington, DC
  • Stipend: $2,000
  • Costs: Travel, housing, and group activities are fully covered

Eligibility:

  • Undergraduate students enrolled in accredited U.S. institutions
  • Ideal for college freshmen or sophomores with an interest in economics and quantitative coursework

Call for Submissions: Hemispheres Journal of International Affairs – Theme “Trading Places”

Hemispheres: The Tufts University Journal of International Affairs is now accepting submissions for its 48th volume under the theme Trading Places. This prestigious, student-run journal has published outstanding research in international affairs since 1976, and they’re seeking contributions from undergraduates in disciplines like economics, political science, history, sociology, and more.

Theme: Trading Places – exploring changes or inversions in structures of authority, influence, or actor behavior across global contexts. Topics may include electoral politics, geopolitical alliances, human rights, corporate governance, cybersecurity, climate policy, authoritarianism, and much more.

Submission Details:

  • Length: 5,000-8,000 words
  • Deadline: January 13, 2025
