Careers in Government Agencies Week is here, and we’re excited to welcome representatives from various government agencies, including the CIA! This is a fantastic opportunity for students to explore careers in national security and public service.

Key Events:

  • CIA Classroom Visits: Tuesday, November 12
    • Available time slots: 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    • If you’d like the CIA recruiter to visit your class, please contact Dedman Dean to arrange the time and location.
  • Ambassador Jordan’s Panel: Wednesday, November 13
    • Hegi Board leadership will be in attendance.
  • National Security Symposium: Thursday, November 14, 2024

The SMU Office of Engaged Learning and the Department of Economics are partnering with Engage Together, an award-winning community mapping project focused on addressing human trafficking and supporting high-risk populations.

Fellowship Details:

  • Position: SMU Student Research Fellow
  • Duration: September 15 – November 24
  • Pay: $20 per hour
  • Hours: 8-15 hours per week

Fellows will support Phase 1 of the project through research, outreach, and data collection. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact while gaining valuable experience.

Explore Civilian Careers in Army Intelligence with Dr. Aaron Linderman

The Hegi Family Career Development Center and the Center for Presidential History are thrilled to host Dr. Aaron Linderman for a special event on Civilian Careers in Army Intelligence.

This speaker event and lunch will take place on September 25 from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Hegi office.

Dr. Linderman serves at the U.S. Army’s National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he leads a team of analysts. He will share insights from his career, discuss opportunities in government and military intelligence, and provide valuable advice for SMU undergraduate and graduate students interested in this field.
