Call for Submissions — Hemispheres: The Tufts University Journal of International Affairs

Hemispheres, Tufts University’s undergraduate journal of international affairs, is now accepting submissions for its 49th volume, themed “Bridges and Barriers.”

Since 1976, Hemispheres has published outstanding undergraduate research exploring contemporary global issues across disciplines, including economics, political science, sociology, history, and international relations.

Theme Overview:

The 2025 issue invites papers examining how the world navigates between connection and division — across diplomacy, trade, migration, climate, technology, and more. Submissions may explore how bridges are built through cooperation and innovation, or how barriers persist through conflict, inequality, and ideology.

Submission Details:

  • Length: 5,000–8,000 words
  • Eligibility: Undergraduate authors (including recent graduates)
