FTC Statistician Positions — Apply by Sept. 25, 2025

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is hiring Statisticians in the Bureau of Economics for positions beginning as late as Summer 2026 in Washington, D.C. This is a great opportunity for seniors and master’s students with coursework in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science.

Duties

  • Work alongside PhD economists on antitrust and consumer protection investigations.
  • Provide economic and statistical analysis to support FTC cases.
  • Conduct academic research and develop market reports.

Positions

  • Statistician GS-7: Requires strong interest in applied microeconomics, proficiency in Stata/R/Python, and data analysis skills.
  • Statistician GS-9: Requires advanced programming (Stata, R, Python, SQL, C++), experience with regression, ML, or NLP, and ability to work with large datasets.
