The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is hiring Statisticians in the Bureau of Economics for positions beginning as late as Summer 2026 in Washington, D.C. This is a great opportunity for seniors and master’s students with coursework in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
Duties
- Work alongside PhD economists on antitrust and consumer protection investigations.
- Provide economic and statistical analysis to support FTC cases.
- Conduct academic research and develop market reports.
Positions
- Statistician GS-7: Requires strong interest in applied microeconomics, proficiency in Stata/R/Python, and data analysis skills.
- Statistician GS-9: Requires advanced programming (Stata, R, Python, SQL, C++), experience with regression, ML, or NLP, and ability to work with large datasets.
