My mother (a retired CPA/Financial Planner/Editor) used to say that she does not “have a creative bone in her body.” I argued that her imagination was in atrophy, but still there (She’s since rediscovered it, I should note). Everyone has an imagination, which is much like a muscle. I can’t put my finger on it, physically to show you, but can assure you it is there. Just like when exercising one’s bicep with weights, the more one exercises their imagination, the stronger and more able it becomes. A well exercised imagination can be called upon and it will appear. Cool thing is…it’s fun and easy.
Here are two tips:
1.) Ask, “What if…?” and then just fill in the blank.
2.) Have fun imagining and play with thoughts like a child would a toy.
