With the opening of the David B. Miller Business Quadrangle, the Business Library is excited to announce the opening of our new location, the enhanced capabilities of the Kitt Investing and Trading Center, the addition of the Ida Family Reading Room and our new name! The Business Library will henceforth be known as the Duda Family Business Library, due to the generous contributions of the Duda Family to the Cox School of Business at SMU, and helping make the David B. Miller Business Quadrangle a reality. Our heartfelt thank you to the Duda Family!
Our new location in the Miller Business Quad offers students immediate access to high-quality research resources and dedicated business librarians steps away from the classroom. Our gorgeous new space includes 8 computers equipped with software critical to business research, such as 4 Bloomberg terminals, 8 FactSet stations, 2 CoStar stations and more. Databases such as these allow students to gather the information they need to complete their assignments with ease. And with access to journals, equipment and printing right off the Arnold Commons, the Duda Family Business Library is ready to help students excel.
The Duda Family Business Library contains spaces for students to gather for group or individual study. The Ida Family Reading Room, located across the hall, is dedicated to quiet study. The Kitt Investing & Trading Center is open to student use when classes or workshops are not in session. In addition to the study spaces in or adjacent to the Duda Family Business Library, the Miller Business Quad has 22 team rooms scattered throughout the spaces equipped with audio and visual resources to facilitate group study and presentation practice.
Accessed through the Duda Family Business Library, the Kitt Investing and Trading Center is open for student use! With a new higher capacity, the Kitt Center can accommodate sixty students at dual-monitored computer workstations installed with database access to FactSet, Capital IQ and Morningstar.
Also, 10 of the workstations double as Bloomberg Professional terminals. The Kitt Center is equipped with three LED ticker displays visible from the outside hallways, which monitor the global markets. A large video wall displays the latest breaking business news, commodity movements, and stock market changes.
We are excited to welcome students, faculty and staff to the new Duda Family Business Library. We can’t wait to see you!
