Last week, TEIL faculty members participated in the Empowering Learners for the Age of AI (ELAI) 2023 Global Conference. ELAI discusses the research and practice of using AI in schools, universities, and corporations. Topics discussed in this conference included the potential of AI as a tool in learning, teaching, and developing, how AI can be used to progress education, and how to develop students’ AI literacy.

Immersive Learning Research at SMU: Past, Present and Future

On Friday, October 13th, 2023, Eric G. Bring, MD, PhD, and Tony Cuevas, PhD, spoke about the research in the field of virtual reality learning and immersive learning at SMU. These two fields are the focus of some of the projects that members of the Technology-Enhanced Immersive Learning (TEIL) cluster are working on.
