Last week, TEIL faculty members participated in the Empowering Learners for the Age of AI (ELAI) 2023 Global Conference. ELAI discusses the research and practice of using AI in schools, universities, and corporations. Topics discussed in this conference included the potential of AI as a tool in learning, teaching, and developing, how AI can be used to progress education, and how to develop students’ AI literacy.
The ELAI conference is presented by the Global Research Alliance for AI in Learning and Education (GRAILE). The goal of GRAILE is to directly influence policy and senior leadership in areas where AI intersects with learning in K-12, corporate, and higher education settings. This means that GRAILE often acts as a guide for many policymakers in education, especially around the topic of AI.
You can hear TEIL faculty members and SMU staff speak in the following panels:
- AI and Leadership in Higher Education: Creating Momentum through Faculty Affinity Groups
