UPON ISSUE OF THE SMU VIRTUAL PERMIT, DEDMAN CENTER MEMBERS ARE TO USE THE MUSTANG CIRCLE PARKING CENTER.
Meadows Parking Garage is available temporarily until issue of the virtual permit or instances of an inoperable/damaged or forgotten Member Card.
The Dedman Member On-Campus Parking is available to specific Dedman Center Memberships. Please see Membership Rates for more details.
- On-campus Parking permit requests will only be processed with current membership and/or paid parking if required. If there is an error in the submission, the Dedman Center will contact you via email provided on the request or associated to membership profile.
- Permits are only issued to the individual and individuals are limited to a single virtual permit number.
- The Permit number will be associated to the individual’s vehicle(s) and individual is limited to a single permit number.
- Individuals may register up to 2 vehicles, primary and secondary, to a single permit. NOTE: The vehicles under he same virtual permit may NOT be on-campus at the same time or risk citation.
- Upon Campus Recreation’s confirmation of membership status, if applicable, parking payment, Campus Recreation will submit parking permit request to SMU Parking Office for permit processing.
- SMU Parking Office will send the individual an email notifying of the virtual permit with instructions to the online parking portal and campus parking. Retain this email for your records. NOTE: This email confirmation of virtual parking permit signifies activation of the Dedman Center Member Card for the Mustang Circle Parking Garage.
- Permissions to park on-campus are verfied with the registered vehicle’s license plate number. Vehicle license plates do NOT open the gates.
- Must have an activated Dedman Center Member Card to open the gates to the garage.
Members will be responsible for maintaining updated vehicle information throught their individual SMU Parking Portal account.
The Dedman Center and SMU Campus Recreation are not responsible for citations, damage, or stolen property.
Dedman Member Parking Permit Request

SMU Employees, Retirees, and SMU Sponsored accounts must acquire parking and ID cards through the SMU Parking & ID Card Office.
