In November 2021, SMU Libraries uploaded 341 items into SMU Libraries Digital Collections. Highlights include:
205 postcards, ca. 1904-1930s, from the John Miller Morris Real Photographic Postcards and Photographs of Texas collection. This project was made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and Texas State Library and Archives Commission (Grant Number TXT-22001). (2022). Among these images are a number of photographs of oil fields and the Texas oil industry, as well as views of various Texas towns and their residents.
5 interviews from the Southern Methodist University Oral History Interviews and Digital Humanities Student Projects collection. These interviews, with Liz Cedillo-Pereira, Sydney Clark, Jess Garland, Vanessa Larez, and Marco Rodriguez are part of the Voices of SMU project.
46 photographs, 1953-1966, from the Richard Steinheimer Photograph Collection. These photographs were taken in Utah, California, and Nevada, and include images of trains and train stations, commuters, landscapes, and station signs.

These catalogs contain general information and course descriptions from each of SMU’s programs of study for academic years 1921-1922, 1922-1923, 1923-1924, 1939-1940, 1942-1943, 1959-1960, 1960-1961, 1970-1971, 1978-1979, and 1986-1987.
Now available in SMU Scholar: Volume 13 and Volume 14 of Field and Laboratory (1943-1944). This publication contains papers published by faculty, students, and alumni from SMU’s Science Division, from 1932-1959. The articles cover many scientific areas, including biology, chemistry, physics, meteorology, earth sciences, anthropology, and the history of science.
Lafayette Hunter Letters to his Son Carl, 1912-1915, ca. 1912-1923. The collection comprises the contents of four boxes of letters and notes from Lafayette Hunter, a lawyer in Piggot, Clay County, Arkansas, to his son Carl. Carl fell ill during this time and moved to the Murphey Sanitorium in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Carl attended the University of New Mexico and returned to the Sanitorium during the influenza pandemic of 1918. The letters from father to son express concern for Carl’s health, include Lafayette’s descriptions of family affairs, and contain references to local events in Piggot and elsewhere.
