75 photographs from the Nell Goodrich DeGolyer Papers. Most of the photographs show Rancho Encinal, the DeGolyers’ estate built in 1939, including its construction, gardens, and rooms. Rancho Encinal is now part of the Dallas Arboretum. Other images show Nell DeGolyer with her granddaughter, Roberta, and images of Nell DeGolyer entertaining guests on her patio and gardens at Rancho Encinal.

18 items from Our Denver Story, 1863, including albums, photographs, correspondence, drawings, and ephemera. The items document Jane Whiteley’s trip to Denver by stage coach in 1863. Jane Whiteley was the wife of Simeon Whiteley, newspaperman and strong Unionist during the Civil War. In her journal, she describes life in Denver, a major flood and an “Indian scare” which precipitated her return to Wisconsin again by stage.
