CUL Digital Collections has recently uploaded two photograph albums of the Lusitania and Mauretania passenger ships, held by Southern Methodist University’s DeGolyer Library.
Photos of the Lusitania are part of the Photographs of Q.S.T.S. “Lusitania”. This album contains 59 photographs of exterior and interior views of the Cunard Steamship Company ship, R.M.S. Lusitania. The Lusitania, the sister ship to the Mauretania, was torpedoed by a German U-boat during World War I in 1915 off the coast of Ireland and sank in 18 minutes. Over 1, 000 passengers died. Besides civilians, the Lusitania was carrying large amounts of rifle ammunition. Photographs in the album are by Bedford Lemere & Co., architectural photographers to His Majesty the King
Photos of the Mauretania are part of the R.M.S. Mauretania accession. An album contains 30 photographs of the Cunard Line luxury passenger ship, the R.M.S. Mauretania. Images include the dining room, lounge, deck areas, and state rooms. Also, included are views of ship construction, the ship in the harbor, the bridge, crew, kitchen, and engine room. Another related set of related photographs includes 21 separate prints of the Mauretania. The Mauretania was the sister ship to the Lusitania and was launched September 20, 1906.

The image you have captioned as Lusitania on the stocks with launch cradle actually shows her after launch in dry dock, probably Canada dry dock. As she still has three-bladed props this photograph is before 1909.
