Kit Addleman is known as a “powerhouse lawyer” in securities enforcement defense, and has built her nationwide practice by advising public companies, officers and directors, investment advisors, private funds, and broker-dealers concerning securities investigations. She has successfully defended clients in civil and criminal investigations and litigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission and Department of Justice, advised clients on compliance with securities regulations, and conducted internal investigations of suspected securities violations. Kit’s experience serving in four different regional offices over her 20 years in senior management at the SEC allows her to deftly advise clients at Haynes Boone, where she serves as co-chair of the Litigation Practice Group, chair of the firm’s SEC Enforcement Practice Group and is a prominent member of the Government Enforcement and Investment Management Practice Groups.
Kit serves her colleagues and community with the same zeal she offers her clients. She started the firm’s Women’s Initiative and served six years as the head of the Women’s Leadership Academy, a training program for senior associates. Kit also serves as chair of the board with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas. In 2016, the Dallas Business Journal profiled Kit about her efforts at the Girl Scouts to develop a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics training program. The National Association of Corporate Directors also named her an “Outstanding Director” for her work on behalf of the Girl Scouts. In 2021, Kit was recognized as a “Women of Distinction” by the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, which celebrates women leaders who serve the community. She is co-chair of the ABA subsection on Officer and Director liability defense. Additionally, she co-founded the local chapter of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association to facilitate business growth and networking for women lawyers defending government actions and investigations. Kit also is a past board member of the National Society of Compliance Professionals and the Consumer Credit Counseling Service, both organizations which support financial literacy and money management, investor protection and securities compliance. |

Matt Fry is a partner and co-chair of the Capital Markets and Securities Practice Group. Matt advises issuers, investors and underwriters in a variety of business transactions, with a concentration in public and private securities offerings. His other areas of practice include periodic reporting compliance with the SEC, corporate governance, venture capital financings, public and private mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate planning and representation. Matt was selected for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars, Thomson Reuters, for Securities and Corporate Finance, 2014-2021. Matt was also recognized by D Magazine, D Magazine Partners, in “Best Lawyers in Dallas” for Corporate Securities/Capital Markets, 2021-2023.

Tim Newman is a litigator with experience in white-collar defense, internal investigations, complex litigation, and cybersecurity. He has spent most of his career helping clients stay out of trouble with government agencies. Tim prides himself on being proactive, working closely with his clients, and leveraging technology to maximize the value of his work.
Tim is passionate about service and is consistently recognized for his leadership. He currently serves on the Dallas Bar Association Board of Directors. He received the Jo Anna Moreland Outstanding Committee Chair Award from the Dallas Bar Association in 2021 and the Kirk Watson Excellence in Leadership Award from the Texas Young Lawyers Association in 2020. He has also been selected as a Leading Dallas-Area Professional ‘20 Under 40’ by People Newspapers, D Magazine Partners, recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, Woodward/White, Inc., selected for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars, Thomson Reuters, and recognized in D Magazine’s “Best Lawyers Under 40” list.
Laura Whitley

Laura Whitley is a partner in the Finance Practice Group in the Dallas office of Haynes and Boone and serves as counsel to financial institutions and borrowers in an array of sophisticated finance transactions. Laura offers clients knowledgeable advice and is dedicated to helping clients meet their business needs and goals.
During her career, Laura has represented agents, lenders, and borrowers in syndicated credit transactions involving revolving credit facilities, subscription-secured credit facilities, term loans, letters of credit, multi-currency facilities, cross-border financings, and acquisition financings. Laura has also provided legal services to clients in a variety of industries in connection with secured credit facilities, secured and unsecured working capital lines of credit, and other commercial loans.
When not working on behalf of her clients, Laura is an active member of her community. Since 2007, Laura has been involved with the Junior League of Dallas, providing hundreds of volunteer service hours to Dallas area non-profits. Laura also serves on the board of directors for United to Learn and previously served on the board of directors for Promise House.
