Jonathan Whalen

Jonathan Whalen is a partner in the Dallas office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He is a member of the
firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Energy and Infrastructure, and Securities Regulation
and Corporate Governance practice groups. Mr. Whalen also serves on the Gibson Dunn Hiring
Committee. Mr. Whalen’s practice focuses on a wide range of corporate and securities transactions,
including mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and public and private capital markets
transactions. Mr. Whalen received his law degree summa cum laude in 2009 from the SMU Dedman
School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and served as an Articles Editor on
the SMU Law Review. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude and his Masters of
Business Administration degree from Louisiana Tech University. Mr. Whalen is a member of the Texas
Bar and admitted to practice in the State of Texas.

Jonathan Sapp is a senior associate in the Dallas office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he currently
practices in the firm’s Corporate Department. His practice focuses on corporate and securities
transactions, including public and private mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and
capital markets transactions. Mr. Sapp graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2016. While in
law school, he served as Executive Technical Editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law
Review. He received his B.S. summa cum laude from Texas Christian University in 2013. Mr. Sapp is
admitted to practice law in the State of Texas.
